The Aroma of Christ – 2 Corinthians 2:14-16
14 But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads in every place the fragrance that comes from knowing him. 15 For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing; 16 to the one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?
What the passage says
V. 14. We are to see the God who ‘leads us’ and ‘uses us.’
V. 15-16 We are the aroma of God, sharing the knowledge of God everywhere. Paul says that this same aroma can be like stench for those who are not walking in the journey of salvation.
What does the passage say to me/us?
Our life has to be a song of Jesus Christ. Our life has to become a personification of Christ’s light shining in the world. We need to remember that God lead us to become more like Christ, and then God uses us for God’s glory.
Prayer
Lord, help us to shine your light in this world. Work in us today.
