Today's Scripture
Walking with Me – Psalm 37:25-29
25 I have been young, and now am old,
yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken
or their children begging bread.
26 They are ever giving liberally and lending,
and their children become a blessing.
27 Depart from evil, and do good;
so you shall abide forever.
28 For the Lord loves justice;
he will not forsake his faithful ones.
The righteous shall be kept safe forever,
but the children of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 The righteous shall inherit the land,
and live in it forever.

What the passage says
V. 25-26 The Psalmist says that the righteous is not forgotten. Their righteousness continues down to the next generation.
V. 27-28 In order to live in righteousness, the Psalmist calls people to ‘turn away from evil.” On the contrary, the next generation of the evil will pay for their wickedness.
V. 29 The righteous are invited to the kingdom.
What does the passage say to me/us?
Sometimes it is hard to see the righteous suffer. Sometimes it feels like the evil flourishes.
However, the Psalmist reminds us that we need to be patient and remain in the path of righteousness. It is the end goal we need to have in mind. Do we have our goals set for the kingdom? That will keep us live in the way of righteousness, even though it sounds like a rough road. Remember that God will never forsake the righteous.
Prayer
Lord, Help us to live in your righteousness. Let us know see the evil flourish. Help us to see you, who is always with us, calling us to live in your righteousness. In Christ name, we pray, AMEN
