Psalm 18: 31 – 36

31 For who is God except the Lord?
And who is a rock besides our God?—
32 the God who girded me with strength,
    and made my way safe.
33 He made my feet like the feet of a deer,
and set me secure on the heights.
34 He trains my hands for war,
so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
35 You have given me the shield of your salvation,
    and your right hand has supported me;
your help has made me great.
36 You gave me a wide place for my steps under me,
and my feet did not slip.

What the passage says

V. 31. God is the Lord and rock of the Psalmist

V. 32- 34 God strengthens and protects God’s child

V. 35-36 God gave salvation to His people, and His helping hand supports them.

What does the passage say to me/us?

‘When if God for us, who can be against us?’

This is a lyric of Chris Tomlin’s ‘Our God.’ It is based on Romand 8:31. When I read this Psalm, the lyrics of the song popped in my mind.

When God is with us, God will strengthen us. God’s hand will support us, and God will lead us upon the strong foundation.

Do we see how God is with us today?

Prayer

Lord, help us to see how you are with us today. Open our eyes so we can see.
In Christ name we pray, AMEN
