Today's Scripture

One Year Bible Daily Reading – Micah 4-5; Luke 22:1-20

Scripture: John 11:25-27

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me will live, even though they die. 26 Everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

27 She replied, “Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Christ, God’s Son, the one who is coming into the world.

What does this passage mean to me/us?

Contributed by Rev. Seungsoo Jun

The ‘End Game’ for Jesus coming to this world was for us to believe.

Believing starts with acknowledging that Jesus came to this world for me. As we all know, John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Christ came to this world to fulfill God’s promise, who will always be with us; Immanuel. We praise the Lord, who is always with us!

Believing, also entails that we believe only through Christ, we experience resurrection and life. Not only that we are invited to be resurrected with Christ at the moment of our death, but also that we will see our life resurrecting from our worldly problems. With Christ, we are able to truly live. We are called to live according to God’s purpose, as we follow and obey God’s ways.

Christmas is a day we celebrate the coming of our Immanuel Lord; Christ with us! It should also be a day we recommit our lives to believe resurrection and life found in Christ! May the Christmas spirit overflow through us, as we all recommit our lives to our Lord!

Merry Christmas~!

Prayer

Lord, we praise you for coming to this world and coming to my life! Help us today, to celebrate our commitment to follow your ways of resurrection and life!

In the name of the Immanuel king, we pray, Amen!
