Today's Scripture

In the end- Matthew 24: 32-35

TODAY’S READING SCHEDULE: Matthew 24(CEB)

32 “Learn this parable from the fig tree. After its branch becomes tender and it sprouts new leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 In the same way, when you see all these things, you know that the Human One is near, at the door. 34 I assure you that this generation won’t pass away until all these things happen. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will certainly not pass away.

What does this passage mean to me/us

In the past three days, we read about Jesus’ prophecy regarding the end time.
It is a difficult and confusing concept.
We believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ. We see how the world seems to match the description Jesus predicted as the end time.
On the other hand, there is a thought of skepticism of this concept. We wait and wait, and it seems like it might not happen.

We neither have to fear nor think that it will not come.
We need to live every day as if this is the last day of our lives.
Then every day becomes a new day to live out our purpose.
The real question is not when that day comes, but more on what we will say to our Lord when that day comes.

Prayer

Lord, give us wisdom and strength to live this day faithfully. In Christ name, we pray, AMEN.
