Today's Scripture

Promise revealed – 1 Chronicles 11:1-3

TODAY’S READING SCHEDULE: 2 Samuel 5:1-10 1 Chronicles 11-12(CEB)

All the Israelites gathered around David at Hebron. “We’re your own flesh and blood,” they said. “In the past, even when Saul ruled over us, you were the one who led Israel. The Lord your God told you, ‘You will shepherd my people Israel, and you will become a leader over my people Israel.’” So all of Israel’s elders came to the king at Hebron, and David made a covenant with them before the Lord. They anointed David to make him king over Israel, just as the Lord had promised through Samuel.

What does this passage mean to me/us?

It was when David was a young child God called Samuel to anoint him and recognize him as the king of Israel.
Even though there might have been a time when he might have wanted to give up, he held onto God’s promise.
He might have even thought that God gave up on God’s promise.
However, God was faithful and God always will be faithful.

Are you waiting for God’s will to be done in your life? Don’t give up! Hold on to God’s faithfulness.

Wouldn’t it be great to experience God’s faithfulness, like David did?

Prayer

Lord, we say we trust in you. But so many times we get discouraged because things not working out immediately. Help us to learn the faith David had in you, waiting for your promise to be fulfilled in his eyes. Give us the patience to hold onto your faithfulness.  In Christ Name, we pray, AMEN.
