– their hugs

– drill

– His excitement when we arrived
– his family bringing lunch to us

– when ceilings were finished
– our evening end of day discussions
– listening to RJ and RIch before sleep
What surprised you about Puerto Rico?
– How San Juan had recovered so well while the rest of the island still had significant needs/abandoned homes
What was your favorite nature moment/discovery?
– the beautiful landscapes
What was harder or worse than you expected?
– the heat and humidity were almost overwhelming, also leaving was hard
What was your favorite food?
– Bebo’s ribs and shrimp plantain
What are 3 things you most looking forward to when you get back to the States?
– taking a hot shower
– sleeping in my bed
– sharing stories and pictures with my wife
What 3 things surprised you about yourself this week?
– I didn’t get as frustrated with myself as I usually do
– with the team I accomplished a lot even though I wish I could have done more
– I felt very moved when Rich, RJ and I were called forward during the church service
What 3 things did you discover about others on our team?
– RJ is a night owl
– Rich keeps a travel journal
– Terri managed flying very well despite her fears
What are 3 strengths of our team?
– We worked well together – everyone was cooperative
– everyone sought out things to keep them busy
What word or phrase would you use, to sum up, this week for you?
– I felt called to do this, even before we went, and the calling got stronger as the week went on. I went to bed tired and sore but by morning I felt refreshed and eager to continue.
