I joined the church staff here at Raleigh Court United Methodist Church in November 2010, relocating to Roanoke from Massachusetts where I was born and raised.
I have been involved in church music since I first started singing in the children’s choir in the Episcopal Church when I was in Kindergarten. I heard God’s call to pursue a career in church music and went on to earn my Bachelor’s degree in Organ Performance from Syracuse University and a Master’s degree in Organ Performance from the University of Illinois. I have been a professional musician for over 30 years, working as a church musician, an accompanist, piano and organ teacher, recitalist, and music director for opera and musical theater productions. I have held leadership positions in the Handbell Musicians of America (formerly the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers) and the American Guild of Organists.
When I am not making music I enjoy the outdoors and I love to travel. I am an avid golfer and I enjoy hiking, gardening, biking, swimming, and camping. My husband, Steven, was also born and raised in the Boston area. We have a daughter, Sarah, who lives in Roanoke and is an accomplished handbell ringer.
I am excited to be a part of the RCUMC family where I can follow God’s call to share Christ’s love in the Roanoke Valley and beyond.
