Today's Scripture
Ezekiel 42:13-14
Today’s reading Ezekiel 40-42
13 Then he said to me, “The north chambers and the south chambers opposite the vacant area are the holy chambers, where the priests who approach the Lord shall eat the most holy offerings; there they shall deposit the most holy offerings—the grain offering, the sin offering, and the guilt offering—for the place is holy. 14 When the priests enter the holy place, they shall not go out of it into the outer court without laying there the vestments in which they minister, for these are holy; they shall put on other garments before they go near to the area open to the people.”

What does the passage say?
V. 13-14 Ezekiel is introduced to the area where God’s holy offerings are offered.
What does this passage mean to me/us?
We are reading through the Book of Ezekiel, according to the One Year Bible reading challenge.
Some scholars say that Ezekiel 40-43 is one of the most difficult passage, in the Old Testament, to interpret. In this reading, we are introduced to Ezekiel’s vision of the temple.
He says that he was brought to the temple, where a man measures the temple.
However, at that time, the temple built by Solomon was already destroyed, and the temple built, later by Zerubbabel, was smaller compared to the measurement described. So we are not sure on what this vision means.
I want to point out how the guide shows Ezekiel where God’s offering is offered.
The guide emphasizes on how what is offered to God is ‘holy.’
Do we offer God what is ‘holy’ to us?
Do we offer God the best of what we have?
Do we offer God the best of our talents?
Do we offer God our precious time?
Prayer
Lord, we ask that what we offer to you is acceptable in your sight. We offer our lives to you, use it for your glory. In Christ Name, AMEN.
