Today's Scripture
A Burden Lifted James 5:13-16
13 Are any among you suffering? They should pray. Are any cheerful? They should sing songs of praise. 14 Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up; and anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.

What Does the Passage Say?
V. 13-15 In a community of faith, we mourn together and rejoice together. We keep each other in our prayer. We reach out and support the one going through difficulties, so he/she may continue to pray with faith.
V. 16 Confess your sin with one another and experience the healing power.
What Does the passage Mean to Me/US?
In order for us to confess our sins with one another requires a tramendus amount of trust.
Paul is saying, if we are surrounding in that trust, we can become a whole.
Message Bible says, “Make this your common practice: Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed” (V. 16, The Message). Confessing and sharing our heart helps us to become one. When we open our hearts and our lives, we are able to create a community that lives life together.
We need to trust and know that being vulnerable to each other is okay.
Prayer
Lord, help us to be true to you and others. Heal us, when we pour out our hearts to you and to others. Heal us, and make us a whole. In Christ Name, we pray, AMEN.
