Today's Scripture
Serving at Any Age – 1 Peter 4:8-11
8 Above all, maintain constant love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins. 9 Be hospitable to one another without complaining. 10 Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received. 11 Whoever speaks must do so as one speaking the very words of God; whoever serves must do so with the strength that God supplies, so that God may be glorified in all things through Jesus Christ. To him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.

What the passage says
V. 8-9 Peter tells the followers to love and be hospitable to each other.
V. 10 He says that we need to participate, in the act of serving, according to our gifts.
V. 11 However, in all that we do, we need to love and serve as we rely on the strength of God.
What does the passage say to me/us?
…”whoever serves must do so with the strength that God supplies, so that God may be glorified in all things through Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 4:11)
This is such an important verse. When we serve with our own strength, we will face many obstacles; our age, limits, etc.
There is a difference to serve with the strength that our Lord provides. When we hold tight onto our Lord, we can serve beyond our gifts and talents.
When we hold tight onto our Lord, we will know that whatever fruit we see from serving is not what I have done, but what the Lord has done instead.
After all, our purpose to live is to glorify our Lord.
Let us continue to focus and seek the kingdom of our Lord today.
Prayer
Lord, we focus our eyes on you. Today is your day. Help us to work and love, everyone we encounter, with the love that comes from you. And may you be glorified through our lives. In Jesus Christ. Amen
