Today's Scripture
How Does Your Garden Grow? – Isaiah 55:10-13
10 For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven,
and do not return there until they have watered the earth,
making it bring forth and sprout,
giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
11 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
12 For you shall go out in joy,
and be led back in peace;
the mountains and the hills before you
shall burst into song,
and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress;
instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle;
and it shall be to the Lord for a memorial,
for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.

What the passage says
V. 10-11 There is God’s plan that might be different from our thoughts. Like God sends the rain for a purpose, there is a certain way God will do God’s will.
V. 12-13 When God’s will is done, we will be in joy. We don’t have to worry but see how God brings good out of the bad.
What does the passage say to me/us?
The Message Bible starts v. 10 by saying, “I don’t think the way you think. The way you work isn’t the way I work.” God’s Decree.
Many times, we try to understand God in our own ways and thoughts. We need to see the world and our life in God’s perspective.
The world revolves around God’s plans, not ours.
Our lives are under the faithfulness of our Lord, not our own will.
When we change this perspective, we will get to see how God works in our lives.
We slowly lay our lives to the hand of our Lord, and slowly understand.
We, also, acknowledge that our lives are included in God’s plan to fulfill God’s purpose. Like rain, we have a purpose to fulfill.
Then we will be able to see how God turns the bad into good, in our lives and others surrounding us.
Prayer
Lord, we want to see your will done in our lives. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
In Christ name, we pray, AMEN
