Today's Scripture
Romans 5:1-5 Stronger on my Knees
Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand; and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.

What the passage says
V. 1-2 Through faith, we are able to come into the presence of God.
V. 3-5 There is more to come in our lives, through Jesus. God will pour out the Holy Spirit to us, so we can share the hope of our Lord.
What does the passage mean to me/us?
“There’s more to come: We continue to shout our praise even when we’re hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, and how that patience, in turn, forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next. In alert expectancy such as this, we’re never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary—we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!” (V. 3-5 The Message)
How can we remain faithful to the call of being God’s children, in this world?
It is through the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit is poured into our lives, we have the strength to overcome the obstacles in the world.
Not only that we overcome it, we grow in the virtue of Christ. The light of Jesus shines stronger, through us.
When we allow the Spirit to work through our lives, we are able to see how the hope, provided by the Holy Spirit, continues to flow in this world.
Prayer
Lord, pour out your Holy Spirit on us. Help us to overcome the hardship of the world. Shine in us, the light of Jesus Christ, so the light will shine to others.
In Christ Name, we pray, AMEN
