Today's Scripture
Deuteronomy 6:4-9 God Travels
4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. 6 Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. 7 Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise. 8 Bind them as a sign on your hand, fix them as an emblem on your forehead, 9 and write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

What does the passage say?
V. 4-5 To love God alone is what we need to do with all that we have.
V. 6-9 The love of God is to be shared and reminded every moment of our lives.
What does this passage mean to me/us?
We are called to love God with all that we do. As I am reading this well-known command, it sounds as if it is a prayer.
A prayer for us to recite every moment of our lives.
A prayer we need to present to God, as our spiritual breath.
‘Lord, help me to love you and you alone.’
Prayer
Lord, help us to love you and you alone. So many times, we see how the things in the world take our focus away from you. Help us to love you more, today.
In Christ name, we pray, AMEN.
