Staying Connected – Hebrews 10:19-25
19 Therefore, my friends, since we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus, 20 by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain (that is, through his flesh), 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us approach with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who has promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

What the passage says
V. 19-22 Through the death and sacrifice of Jesus, we are invited to enter the sanctuary, holy of holy, which was only allowed for the high priest to enter. It is an invitation of our Lord, for us to grow in a deeper relationship with God.
V. 23-25 As we hold on to the faithfulness of our Lord, we are called to be faithful to the call. We are also called to encourage one another in this journey.
What does the passage say to me/us?
We seldom forget how much distance people had with God. Sin separated us from our Creator. All the laws of the Old Testament didn’t make it easier.
God longed a relationship with us. That is the reason why God came to this world. Not only that God came to the world, but God also died on the cross as an ultimate sacrifice. Through the ultimate sacrifice, we were invited to come to the presence of God.
At moment of Jesus’ birth Matthew 27:51 says, “At the moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks were split” (Matthew 27:51 NRSV).
Jesus made way for us to enter into the holy of holy, where God meets the people, and only through the priest.
Through the sacrifice of Jesus, we are invited to live with Christ.
The question is… Are we accepting this invitation.
When we accept this invitation, we can live in a way to encourage others to live the same, because there is nothing better compared to this relationship.
Prayer
Lord, we are thankful that you became a bridge between God and human. We are thankful for your invitation, asking us to come into this relationship, every day. Help us to grow deeper in your love. Help us to share that love with others. In Christ name, we pray, AMEN
