What the passage says
Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live. (V. 16-18 The Message)
What does the passage say to me/us?
I hope everyone memorizes this verse.
Paul shares an idea that seems difficult to achieve. But at the same time, Paul reminds us the will of God.
Our life is fulfilled when we live according to God’s will. Living according to God’s will is laying down our lives so God’s will can be done. When we lay down our lives; our wants, human desire, and our thoughts, we will see how God’s will is done. Then we will see how our lives will be filled with joy, thanksgiving, and prayer. Because the Spirit allows us to live with joy, thanksgiving, and prayer, not that what we achieve.
Prayer
Lord, we lay down our lives for your will. May your will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.
In Christ’s name, we pray, AMEN
