Today's Scripture

TODAY’S READING SCHEDULE: Numbers 15 -16; Revelation 20

Judgment – Revelation 20:11-15

11 Then I saw a great white throne and the one who is seated on it. Before his face both earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. 12 I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and scrolls were opened. Another scroll was opened too; this is the scroll of life. And the dead were judged on the basis of what was written in the scrolls about what they had done.13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death and the Grave gave up the dead that were in them, and people were judged by what they had done. 14 Then Death and the Grave were thrown into the fiery lake. This, the fiery lake, is the second death. 15 Then anyone whose name wasn’t found written in the scroll of life was thrown into the fiery lake.

What does this passage mean to me/us?

I don’t like stepping on the scale. I don’t like people judging me. Just because I don’t like it shouldn’t be the reason for avoidance.

We need to have an honest perspective about our life. Even though I don’t go on the scale, doesn’t mean that I don’t know.
I know if my body is not feeling well. I know if I feel heavier and less energetic. I know that I have to make some changes.
And often, I resist changing, by simply avoiding.

I do believe there will be a day that I will find myself in front of the throne of the Lord.
I do believe that all that I have done will be written in the book. However, I don’t think what I have done, good or bad, will lead me to the eternal kingdom, because that can only happen through the blood of Jesus.
At that moment, however, I don’t want to fell or say, ‘ I should have changed when I had a chance.’

Prayer

Lord,  we do not follow you by fear. We follow you and make decisions base on your grace and love. Help us to hear you call to follow the path of grace. In the name of Jesus, we pray, AMEN.
