Today's Scripture

God’s Way- Romans 9:7-8

TODAY’S READING SCHEDULE: Genesis 25-26/ Romans 9:1-15 (CEB)

Not all of Abraham’s children are called Abraham’s descendants, but instead your descendants will be named through Isaac. That means it isn’t the natural children who are God’s children, but it is the children from the promise who are counted as descendants.

What does this passage mean to me/us

According to the law, we would have never been considered as the decadence of Abraham.
Through the grace of God, we are counted in the promise.
Grace is the ultimate reason that we are included in the promise, but we can also see it as the will of God.
It was the will of God that Issac was able to overturn the traditional birthright.
By the nature of the world, we were bound to die, but because of God’s will, we overturn death.

That becomes a reason to seek and follow God’s will. When we seek and follow God’s will, not ours, wouldn’t we also see how God will allow us to overturn the world?

Prayer

Lord, we fix our eyes on to your will and your will only! In Christ name, we pray, AMEN.
