Today's Scripture
Do not worry – Philippians 4:4-7
TODAY’S READING SCHEDULE: Philippians 1-4(CEB)
4 Be glad in the Lord always! Again I say, be glad! 5 Let your gentleness show in your treatment of all people. The Lord is near. 6 Don’t be anxious about anything; rather, bring up all of your requests to God in your prayers and petitions, along with giving thanks. 7 Then the peace of God that exceeds all understanding will keep your hearts and minds safe in Christ Jesus.
What does this passage mean to me/us
God urges us to rejoice in the Lord!
And it seems impossible to rejoice all the time when we are surrounded by stress and worries.
We easily lose our joy in the agony of the world.
That is why Paul urges us to draw near to God. The closer we draw near to our creator, the more we see how we cannot do it alone. The more we draw near to God, the more we see how we are limited.
We learn that we are to put our full trust in the Lord, and the Lord alone.
When we do so, we will experience how the “Peace of God exceeds all understanding and keeps our heart and mind safe’ so we can continue to rejoice!
Prayer
Lord, help us to trust in you alone. Let us see the joy in trusting in you, throughout this day. In Christ name, we pray, AMEN.
