Pay close attention: Ezekiel 44:4-8

TODAY’S READING SCHEDULE: Ezekiel 44-45 (CEB)

⁴Then he brought me by way of the north gate to the front of the temple. I looked, and suddenly the Lord’s glory filled the Lord’s temple, and I fell on my face. ⁵Then the Lord said to me: Human one, pay close attention! Use your eyes and ears and listen to all that I say to you concerning the regulations of the Lord’s temple and all its instructions. Pay close attention to the access to the temple through all the sanctuary portals.^[a] ⁶Speak to the rebels, to the house of Israel, The Lord God proclaims: Enough of your detestable practices, house of Israel! ⁷You made my temple unclean because you brought into my sanctuary foreigners who were physically and spiritually uncircumcised. When you offered my food of fat and blood to me, you^[b] broke my covenant with all your detestable practices. ⁸You didn’t keep charge of my holy things. On the contrary, you appointed them^[c]to keep charge in my sanctuary for you.

What does this passage mean to me/us

When the glory of God falls on us, would we be able to pay full attention?
Yes, Ezekiel fell down on his face because of God’s glory was overwhelming.
However, one of the reasons why God wanted to shine God’s glory onto Ezekiel was to have his full attention.

God says, “Human one, pay close attention! Use your eyes and ears and listen to all that I say to you concerning the regulations of the Lord’s temple and all its instructions” (v. 5).

Have you ever had a moment where you saw God calling you to give full attention to what God was doing in your life?
When, God did ask us to focus all our fibers to listen and hear God’s ways?
Are you ready to offer your full attention to what our Lord says?
Don’t miss the chance, it will be a glory that can not be experienced in this world.
Open your eyes today and don’t miss out.

Prayer

Lord, even in the times you call us, we become preoccupied with other things in our lives, we pass by your call. Help us to focus on you and experience your glory. We pray in Christ name, AMEN.
