The Spirit Rushed Over him – Judges 14: 5-7
Today’s Reading Schedule: Judges 13-15 – Click to read
5 Then Samson traveled down to Timnah with his father and mother. When he came to the vineyards in Timnah, suddenly a lone young lion came roaring to meet him. 6 The Lord’s spirit rushed over him, and he tore the lion apart with his bare hands as one might tear apart a young goat. But he didn’t tell his father or mother what he had done. 7 Then he traveled down and talked with the woman; she was the one Samson wanted.

What Does the passage Mean to Me/US?
As we see from the video below, presented by Bible Project, we see how the leaders of the Israelites, the judges, were not perfect.
Samson is one of the imperfect judges who God used.
It is notable to see how the Bible says, “the Lord’s spirit rushed over him” four times in the three chapters we read.
Even most of the events that happened to Samson was a result of his impulsive and immature behaviors, God pours out God’s spirit on him to overcome each situation.
In a way, we see how God works even in our imperfection. Of course, this is no pass for us not to grow and mature. We should always strive to grow in God’s image. But we also know how many times, despite how hard we try, we are far from being perfect.
Knowing that God can work in our imperfection is comforting.
How about you?
