I joined the church staff here at Raleigh Court United Methodist Church in November 2010, relocating to Roanoke from Massachusetts where I was born and raised.
I have been involved in church music since I first started singing in the children’s choir in the Episcopal Church when I was in Kindergarten. I heard God’s call to pursue a career in church music and went on to earn my Bachelor’s degree in Organ Performance from Syracuse University and a Master’s degree in Organ Performance from the University of Illinois. I have been a professional musician for over 30 years, working as a church musician, an accompanist, piano and organ teacher, recitalist, and music director for opera and musical theater productions. I am currently Dean of the Roanoke Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and have held leadership positions in the Handbell Musicians of America (formerly the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers).
When I am not making music I enjoy the outdoors and I love to travel. I am an avid golfer and I enjoy hiking, gardening, biking, swimming, camping, and downhill skiing. My husband, Steven, was also born and raised in the Boston area. We have a daughter, Sarah, who lives in Massachusetts. Steven and Sarah also enjoy music and both are accomplished handbell ringers.
I am excited to be a part of the RCUMC family where I can follow God’s call to share Christ’s love in the Roanoke Valley and beyond.
