Louise Dudley Jamison, 96, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed peacefully, on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at her residence, The Hermitage of Roanoke. Born in Penhook, Virginia, she was predeceased by her devoted husband of 59 years, Lewis Akers Jamison, her parents Troy Stephen Dudley and Annie Lee Cooper, two brothers James W. Dudley, Carlton L. Dudley and three sisters Virginia D. McManaway, Frances D. Robertson, Mary D. Hale.

She is survived by three loving sons and their families – Stephen Lewis Jamison (Brenda), Troy (Jennifer) Jamison, Libby and Davis; Randall Lee Jamison (Kathleen), Jason (Kim) Shelton, Marty (Megan) Shelton, Lilli and Draedon, and Alethea M. Shelton; Raymond Clyde Jamison (Angela), Rachel (David) Jamison-Bryan and loving nieces and nephews.

Before retirement she worked for Leggett (Belk) Tanglewood in the fabric department and volunteered at Lewis Gale Hospital for many years.

As a longtime and faithful member of Raleigh Court United Methodist Church and the Saville-Friendship Class, worship and fellowship was the highlight of her week.  The love and support of her “church family” was always a source of strength, faith and inspiration.

Following burial at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, a memorial service will be held Monday, July 3rd at 11:00 am in the sanctuary of Raleigh Court United Methodist Church, 1706 Grandin Road, Roanoke, Virginia, 24015, with the Rev. Seungsoo Jun and Rev. Roy Miller officiating.  The memorial service will be followed by a reception in the fellowship hall.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 2nd from 2:00 – 5:00 pm at Oakey’s South Chapel, 4257 Brambleton Avenue, Roanoke, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Memorial Fund at Raleigh Court United Methodist Church or a favorite charity of choice.
