Today's Scripture

A Moving Experience Psalm 121:1-8

I lift up my eyes to the hills—
    from where will my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
    who made heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot be moved;
    he who keeps you will not slumber.
He who keeps Israel
    will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is your keeper;
    the Lord is your shade at your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
    nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all evil;
    he will keep your life.
The Lord will keep
    your going out and your coming in
    from this time on and forevermore.

What Does the Passage Say?

V. 1-2 I lift my eyes to remember that my help comes from the Lord
V. 3-4 The Lord does not sleep and will provide the Lord’s protection
V. 5-8 The Lord is our ‘keeper’ and we belong to the Lord

What Does the passage Mean to Me/Us?

When we face difficulties, it is easy for us to forget who the Lord is and who we are.
‘lifting our eyes to the hills’ is a reminder for us to see the Lord who is great. It also helps us to see the situation in perspectives.
The Lord, who created the world and our lives, is, nevertheless, still in control.
The Lord, who never sleeps, will continue to look over our lives.
And the Lord, who never forsakes, will continue to walk with us, even in the times of difficulties.

Prayer

Lord, we lift our eyes to you. Help us see your working hand in our lives. In Christ Name, we pray, AMEN.
