Today's Scripture

A Steward Of Faith Psalm 78:1-7

Give ear, O my people, to my teaching;
    incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
I will open my mouth in a parable;
    I will utter dark sayings from of old,
things that we have heard and known,
    that our ancestors have told us.
We will not hide them from their children;
    we will tell to the coming generation
the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might,
    and the wonders that he has done.

He established a decree in Jacob,
    and appointed a law in Israel,
which he commanded our ancestors
    to teach to their children;
that the next generation might know them,
    the children yet unborn,
and rise up and tell them to their children,
    so that they should set their hope in God,
and not forget the works of God,
    but keep his commandments;

What Does the Passage Say?

V. 1-4 Listen to the teachings of God. God is about to reveal the great story of our Lord to the Next Generation.
V. 5-7 God is the author of this promise and continues to reveal God’s promise through the history. Therefore, don’t forget what God is doing, keep the commandments.

What Does the passage Mean to Me/US?

To the people who desire to hear God’s commandment, God promises to reveal God’s truth to the world.
“Give ear, O my people, to my teaching;
    incline your ears to the words of my mouth.”
When we pay attention to God’s teaching, God reveals the truth of the history.
Despite God’s intention, so many times we pay more attention to the world.

Prayer

Lord, we need you, every day and moment. Nevertheless, we do not seek you and give our full attention to your ways. Forgive us, and cultivate a heart to focus on the truth that flows from your grace. Also, help us to share your love with this world. In Christ Name, we pray, AMEN.
