Today's Scripture

Lot more living to do Psalms 16:7-11

I bless the Lord who gives me counsel;
    in the night also my heart instructs me.
I keep the Lord always before me;
    because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Therefore my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices;
    my body also rests secure.
10 For you do not give me up to Sheol,
    or let your faithful one see the Pit.

11 You show me the path of life.
    In your presence there is fullness of joy;
    in your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

RJ's Devotion

 WHAT DOES THE PASSAGE say?

V. 7-8 The Psalmist blesses the Lord, who counsels him and who is at his right hand.
V. 9-10 Because the Lord is at his right hand, the Psalmist is ‘happy from the inside out’ (v. 9 The Message).
V. 11 The Psalmist says again that true joy comes from being in the presence of God.

What Does the passage Mean to Me/US?

‘The best present is your presence’

As we continue to reflect on the meaning of Christ being sent to this world, we pray that we will see God’s presence in our lives.
To see that the best present is to have God’s presence.
That will bring us the joy that will overcome all things.
I’m happy from the inside out, and from the outside in, I’m firmly formed” (v. 9 The Message).
Let us seek for God’s presence in our lives and share the ultimate joy that comes from our Lord.

Prayer

Lord, help us to see how you are our counsel. Help us to see how you lead us at our right hand. Help us to see your presence in our lives, and see the joy that comes through you. In Christ Name, we pray, AMEN
