Kathryn Shepherd McVey, of Roanoke County, Va., passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015. She was born in Bedford County, Va., on May 28, 1927. She was predeceased by her husband, James L. “Jake” McVey; parents, Henry Virgil Shepherd and Rennie Spradlin Shepherd; and siblings, Mary Virginia and William Josephus Shepherd.She is survived by her sister, Marie Shepherd Overstreet (Jimmy); nephews, Dennis Overstreet (Shelby), Allen Overstreet (Lori); great-nephew, Christopher Overstreet; great-nieces, Kelly Gregory, Laura Chasson, Amanda Overstreet, Christina Overstreet, and Brittany Overstreet; great-great-nephews, Carter and Samuel Gregory; and great-great-niece, Emmalyn Chasson. Her extended family includes sister-in-law, Ellen McVey Nuess; nephews, William Nuess and James Nuess; niece, Dorothy Nuess Hoffman; and great-nephews, Brandon, Justin, Jake and Maclin Nuess.Kathryn retired from Sears Credit Department with 34 years of service. She later worked for Consumer Credit Counseling Service. She was a member of Raleigh Court United Methodist Church, Credit Women International and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.Visitation will be held at Oakey’s South Chapel on Saturday, December 19, 2015, from noon to 2 p.m. where a Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Roy Miller and the Rev. Seungsoo Jun officiating. Inurnment will follow the service at Evergreen Burial Park in the Chapel of Light.Those wishing to make memorial contributions may consider the Cave Spring Rescue Squad or Raleigh Court United Methodist Church or to a charity of your choice. Marian H. Agee, age 91, of Roanoke went to be with the Lord on December 11, 2015.  She was born in New Jersey to Dr. Harold and Mabel Hallock.  She lived in several states before graduating from the University of Idaho.  She received a M.A. in Christian Education from Scarritt College in Tennessee.  She worked as a Wesley Foundation Director at Longwood College, a Bible teacher for the Waynesboro schools and a Director of Christian Education at Reveille UMC in Richmond.  In addition, she was a devoted wife and mother.  She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Earl T. Agee.  She is survived by her daughter, Luci A. Wright and husband, Bruce as well as a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Loreen and Bob Johnson of Richmond.   Marian enjoyed her many friends and family and especially delighted in the many trips across the country that she was able to experience with Earl.  In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the United Methodist Committee On Relief (UMCOR, P.O. Box 9068, New York, NY 10087).  A celebration of her life will be held at Brandon Oaks chapel on December 18 at 2:00 pm.
